What do you do?

Quantum Political is a boutique Minnesota-based political consulting firm specializing in web design, digital strategy, and data science.

Who are you?

Quantum Political is run by Phil Ableidinger. I’m a law student at the University of Minnesota.

My professional experience includes working as a research assistant, business consultant, and campaign aide. I attended the University of Minnesota for my undergraduate studies and studied economics and philosophy with a minor in mathematics.

Why did you start Quantum Political?

In my experience, many state and local political campaigns lag behind best practices when it comes to optimizing their digital strategy and ad spend. Too often, campaign websites seem trapped in 1996, and digital spending is done haphazardly. Many traditional media firms and political consultancies haven’t kept pace with the latest tools and tactics. Others take advantage of campaign’s limited technical knowledge to bill massive amounts for mediocre work. Throughout my years in and around politics, I’ve seen both first hand, much to my frustration. I started Quantum to help change that. My goal is to be an affordable, reliable, and trustworthy partner to your campaign.

I’ve been passionate about web design and digital marketing since I was 14. Throughout high school, I competed in national website design competitions, placing 6th at the Business Professionals of America national event out of hundreds of competitors. Combining this passion with years of involvement in Democratic politics, I find immense satisfaction in helping campaigns enhance their online presence and refine their messaging to achieve tangible results.

Why should we hire you?

I’ve worked in business consulting and political campaigns, so I understand the common challenges local campaigns face—limited budgets, minimal digital experience, and overpriced or outsourced vendor services delivering mediocre results. I personally handle every aspect of your project, from tailored messaging to seamless integration of tools like MailChimp. I am responsive, and bring the same attention to your deadlines and detail as you would expect from a large client services firm. To my knowledge, I boast a 100% client satisfaction rate.

How much do you charge, and how long does it take?

Many local design firms charge premium rates, while low-cost options often come with hidden fees, outsourced work, or restrictive contracts. No matter who you hire, make sure your quote includes revisions, that you retain full ownership of your site, and that there are no surprise monthly charges. Watch out for vendors who bury unethical billing in technical jargon or lock you into their platform.

While I can’t give you a firm quote without knowing the scope of your project, my rates are typically lower than most established local firms. I charge a flat fee for website design, so you’ll know the full cost up front. If needed, I’m happy to break payments into installments to accommodate your campaign’s cash flow. I also offer price matching in most cases if another designer underbids me.

If you are an under resourced grassroots campaign running in a competitive race, I’m also open to doing “pro-bono” or “low-bono” work as an in-kind contribution. This depends on the race and my availability, but don’t hesitate to reach out if you think I can be of help.

Okay, I'm sold!
